THE STATISTICS
01. GENERAL
The Statistics refers to the Skill Chart that you will come across during the application process. These skill charts are important in determining the best team suited for the character, as well as general capabilities during fights and other missions. The Skill Chart is also useful when fighting other individuals, to help determine the realistic outcome of the battle.
02. THE CATEGORIES
STRENGTH: The Strength attribute refers to the physical strength of the character. This attribute can refer to how easily a character is able to pick up a certain weapon, the strength of their punches or kicks, or the strength of any physical attack inflicted upon another character.
DEFENSE: Defense is a slightly more broad area, as this can be attributed to both physical and magical defense. Defense is the ability to defend yourself from incoming attacks, whether through physical or magical means. Higher defenses against lower strength or magical will typically result in successful defense.
INTELLIGENCE: Intelligence refers to the intelligence, and strategy, of a character. While a low rank does not necessarily mean that character is "stupid", it may just mean that the character is not as well educated as others may be. Intelligence is helpful in determining the proper place a character belongs.
MAGIC: Magic is the ability to produce magic, which Sorcerers, Elves, and Fae have the ability to do. The higher rank the magic skill is, the more powerful and successful magic attacks or defense are. Dragons also typically have a natural flow of magic. The magic is similar to regular magic, however dragons typically can only specialize in one type. The most common type is, of course, fire. In some cases, dragons can learn other magic if they are taught.
STAMINA: Stamina refers to how long that character is typically able to last during a battle. Lower stamina means that less time is elapsed before the character must take a break, which is typical for older or lazier characters. Higher stamina means that the character can normally last long periods of time without needing a break. Powerful attacks will drain characters with low stamina more quickly than those with high stamina.
SPEED: The speed attribute refers to how fast your character is. This can be determined in running, how quickly jobs get done, or how quickly a character can escape. Regardless, older and lazier characters will tend to have lower speed than those with high. This attribute is important for races as well as escape.
MEDICAL: The medical attribute refers to the medical skill of a character. This attribute is normally taught at the Academy, but can be learned from books elsewhere. The higher this skill, the higher the character's medical knowledge is. The medical attribute can even be enhanced farther if combined with certain types of magic. Dragons do not have this category in their skill chart, however certain species of dragons (such as the Pheonix) have a natural magic ability.
FIRE BREATHING: Fire breathing is a dragon-only ability. Some dragons can have extremely powerful, controlled fire, while others may not be as powerful and not as controlled. Some dragons cannot even breathe fire.
03. HOW TO INCREASE
Every so often, staff members will create and open classes at the Academies to help increase the stats of characters who wish to involve. To participate in a class, you must reply to the respective class thread until the thread will be closed (a date will be provided in the thread for when the class ends). This is also for dragons. If a person leaves the thread before the class is over, they will not gain the skill. Typically, one class is equivalent to a stat increase of .2, however this can vary depending on frequently classes take place. Also, this can vary depending on the quality of the post. Higher quality posts will result in higher stat increases.
When classes become available, look at the respective Academy
s information to find out how to sign up for classes. If you are a neutral character, then you have the option of choosing which Academy you wish to attend for that class. You are free to switch to another academy if you are neutral. Other species, such as Elves and Fae, are also welcome to attend. Most classes are free, however the more advanced classes (for those with a skill rank of 08-10) will normally require a small fee in order to attend.
04. USING IN BATTLE
Using the statistics during a battle is relatively simple. For example, we will take one character who has a strength of 08 and a defense of 04, and another character who has a strength of 06 and a defense of 06. In battle, these two are matched extremely well, despite the high strength of the first character. For these cases, the battle will depend on the stamina and speed of the two characters, to see who can last longer or who could escape successfully. When matched equally, and if the battle is unresolved, please PM an administrator to end the battle for you. Keep an eye on the entire chart to get a good idea of just how the battle may play out. Of course, if the two players agree, it can end with different results.
