03. THE DESCRIPTIONS
[/justify]THE OVERLORD/KING: The Overlord, or King, is the person in charge of their Kingdom. The Overlord has control over Ethaia and the King has control over Thivea. The job of the Overlord and the King are great - not only do they try to make appearances for the public, they also do a lot of desk and political work. These two people make major decisions, such as decisions for trading, wars, and alliances. They are also in charge of trying to gain control of a certain land, should they try to. While the Commander or President tend to oversee the function of their Kingdom, the Overlord and King will solve big problems and make huge political decisions.
THE GENERAL: The General is in charge of the Dragon Riders for their kingdom. There is one General for each Kingdom. The Generals will oversee the Dragon Rider's actions, assign quests and missions to the Dragon Rider captains, and are also in charge of the dragons of their kingdom. Most generals will have a private assembly for themselves, to help maintain all of the work that is assigned, but that is not a requirement for the general. They help regulate dragons, for they have a high respect for the species. The two generals also usually respect each other.
THE ASSISTANT/SECRETARY: The Assistant or Secretary is the person who most people will be able to speak to, rather than speaking directly to the King or the Overlord. These two people hold a surprisingly high level of power in the Kingdom. The Assistant or Secretary does not necessarily do the dirty work for the Overlord or the King, however instead they will look over the paperwork before it arrives at the King or the Overlord. If the Assistant or Secretary can comfortably make a decision instead, it leaves less work for the Overlord or the King. These two are actually highly respected.
THE COMMANDER/PRESIDENT: The Commander or President is in charge of the Assembly or the Council (respectively). The Commander and President will oversee the actions and decisions done and made by the Assembly or Council of their kingdom. They normally will report to the Assistant or Secretary, but will sometimes also be able to report to the Overlord or King.
THE ASSEMBLY/COUNCIL MEMBERS: The Assembly and the Council are comprised of numerous members. This organization will be the first to hear of events happening in their kingdom. They keep up with the local news and are also the first to get decision making problems. If the Assembly or Council can come up with a reasonable solution on their own, the work will not be transferred to the Assistant or Secretary. Otherwise, the work will continue up the cycle. These organizations will also sometimes be present during the Overlord or King's decision making process.
THE CAPTAINS: The Captain is the leader of each dragon-rider team. The Captain will typically report directly to the General, unless otherwise requested. Captains are hand selected by the General for the position. Captains are in charge of their team, and spend a lot of time with their team members. While they are not able to select missions or quests, they can make requests or suggestions. The Captain may have specific members of their team that can act as a "council", however that is at the Captain's discretion.
THE QUEEN: The Queen does not hold much political power, however she can influence decisions in the political scene. She will sometimes be invited by the Assembly or the Council to help make decisions. She has more power with the people, however, as she tends to be seen in the capital quite often and found interacting with the civilians of her kingdom. She is normally very well liked.
THE PRINCE(S): The Prince holds very little political power, however he can often times be present with the King or the Overlord during important meetings. He will be given the chance to speak and give his own opinion, as a great opportunity to prove if he is ready for the heir or not. The Prince is not as sociable as the Queen or the Princess, however he can be seen in public as well.
THE PRINCESS(ES): The Princess, like the Queen, is a more social figure than a political figure. Even more so than the Queen, she can often times even be seen outside of the capital of her kingdom. Whether she is liked or not varies.
THE DRAGON RIDERS: The Dragon Riders hold very little political power, however they are a direct part of the Kingdom's function. They may not be able to voice their opinions like other ranks can, but on rare occasion, they may be invited to political decision-making meetings. Dragon Riders are also invited to the Royal Castle for special social events.
OTHER ROYAL FAMILY: Other members of the family simply live in the Castle. They have no real "say" in the opinions of politics, however they have been privileged to live in the Royal Castle.
